Apartments in Vilnius by District

There are many different districts in Vilnius for prospective renters to choose from, each neighborhood having its own distinct soul and ambience. As well as the more popular choices such as the captivating Old Town or the freer and more bohemian Uzupis one can look to the more residential area of Zverynas. Apartments in Zyerynas are among the most expensive in the city, but it is easy to see why. Fantastically located within walking distance of the buzzing town center but just tucked away enough to enjoy slow and lazy mornings and peaceful nights. Another place high on peoples wish lists is Antakalnis. This city district takes advantage of Lithuania's forested complexion. With four lakes and wooden areas all about the area it is magical in the winter and glorious in the summer months.

Vilnius Old Town Apartments

If you are moving to Vilnius, the chances are you really want to ingratiate yourself with a new culture, to be in the thick of the action. Where better than Vilnius' historic and storied Old Town? There are not many more charming Old Town's than Vilnius' - Orange roofs stretch as far as the can see and the captivating mixture of Baroque and Neoclassical architecture is a welcome sight each and every day. The apartments inside these buildings have of course been upgraded to suit every modern convenience. Whist the city is gathering pace it does not have the incredible amounts of footfall that other European capitals suffer from, ensuring the perfect amount of action.

Apartments in Uzupis

If you even have a hint of a creative soul then Uzupis is without a doubt the place to base yourself when in Vilnius. Local artists have actually claimed it as an independent state and few places in the world nurture creative souls more. There is even a constitution hanging in the main square promoting happiness, creativity and freedom. It's winding streets and squares are full of al-fresco dining and bohemian coffee shops as well as bars that are packed during the evening. Prices here are again very reasonable indeed and it is a fantastic place to stay and discover a side of Vilnius that you might have not known existed before.

Apartments in Naujoji Vilnia

If you are after the quieter life then renting a house or an apartment in Naujoji Vilnia may be the best decision you have ever made. Found on the very Eastern side of the Vilnius proper, this district of 30,000 people has fantastic access to many of Lithuania's natural wonders. Hiking trails and kayaking routes are in abundance and with cheaper rents fetching larger properties it is a great option for the more budget conscious renter as well. Vilnius' good transportation links ensure that the suburbs are connected by buses or if you decide to rent or indeed buy a car then you can be downtown in no time.

Student Accomodation Vilnius

Due to the relatively low rent (by European standards) student accommodation can be found throughout the city. The majority of students can be found in the Antakalnis borough near the collection of University campuses there. However, convenience does come with compromises as most designated student accommodation is found in 16 towers nicknamed Little New York by the locals. For something with a little more charm whilst keeping prices low, students should look to areas such as Uzupis or indeed the Old Town itself. The endless inspiration in these areas will keep you in good stead and the low rents will keep your wallet happy. Studio apartments in great locations can be found for as little as €400 and rooms to rent start around €200 a month!

Public Transport Vilnius

Vilnius isn't the largest city in the world and it is extremely walkable, however the public transport options are also fantastic. It has a wide-ranging bus and trolley service with extremely low prices - €1 for an hour. There is also a heavy emphasis on cycling here and there are Cyclocity bike stations all around the city.
